THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The state forest department has launched ‘e-ticketing facility’ for visitors to various ecotourism centres across Kerala. The first phase of the project will cover 28 such centres and ‘Vanasree eco-shop’ in the state capital.
Forest minister K Raju inaugurated the online booking system, which will be implemented for sale of 20% of tickets on an experimental basis in the first phase.
“Forest produces, except timber, will be made available online for customers from across India through Vanasree eco-shop” said the minister who also unveiled the Kerala Forest Ecotourism mobile app launched along with the online booking facility
The minister said the online booking facility would be extended to all ecotourism centres and Vanasree units in the state within a month, besides continuing with direct sales of tickets at the centres. Tickets and produces can be purchased from department website www.forest.kerala.gov.in and ecotourism website www.keralaforestecotourism.com.
